Partners
, leader of the Simpyc project, a public entitiy responsible for the administration of
the ports of Valencia, Sagunto and Gandia. The Valencia Port Authority has previously
participated in other LIFE-Environment projects, such as ECOPORT (An Environmentally Friendly
Port Community, 2000), and the HADA (An Automatic Tool for Environmental Diagnosis, 2002).

The Livorno Port Authority currently participates in the LIFE-Environment EMAS.PO.LI Project,
a pilot project aimed at the testing and dissemination of an Environmental Management System
in the Port of Livorno. It has also participated in the BOFO.PO.LI Project, centred on the
development of new seabed cleaning techniques, which included the testing of innovative prospecting methods.

Valencia City Council has ample experience in LIFE-Environment projects, such as the integrated management of the illumination
within the Albufera National Reserve (2003); the collection of used cooking oil for recycling as a bio-fuel for diesel engines
(2002); a demonstration plant for rice compost and the agronomic evaluation of the resulting fertiliser (2000); the development
of a specific environmental plan for the city of Valencia (1994).
All the councils and ports involved in the programme will be responsible for carrying
out within their respective cities and ports the actions determined during the
development of the project.
The participation of other partners is required for specific actions:

Responsible for the coordination of Spanish ports, as well as for the development and coordination of projects aimed at
improving the environmental management systems related to activities carried out within Spanish ports and authorising
collaboration agreements with other port authorities. This organisation will be responsible for planning an “International
Meeting on Port-City Relationships from an Environmental Perspective”, which is to be held in Madrid. This public organisation
has been involved in a great many European projects within the Maritime Science and Technology Programme (MAST), such as the
MEDWOC Project (MAST I-0042), WAVEMOD (MAST II-PL-810089), PROMISE (MAST III- CT950025), EUROROSE (MAST III- CT98-0168), as well
as other programmes forming part of the European Environment Programme, such as WASA (EV5V-CT94-0506) and HIPOCAS (EVK2-1999-00248),
together with a wide range of national and international programmes.
- University of Valencia:
- Department of Administrative Law: Responsible fore creating a municipal
law model related to the environmental aspects involved in the port-city relationship.

Responsible for scientific and theoretical training, as well as for practical considerations in the different areas of the project.

Responsible for the dessimination of the intermediate and final results of the project by means of multilingual
newsletters sent to the UE's 800 correspondents in Brussels. Additionally, it is to be responsible for the
promotional meetings in Brussels office.

through which to publish the project’s results and to provide the
IT tools required for the project’s management.

Responsible for the direct and indirect management of 36 small scale commercial, fishing and/or leisure ports. To be responsible for the development of an environmental
management tool for small commercial, fishing and/or leisure ports. The ports of Denia and Villajoyosa are to be employed as pilots.
