SIMPYC Project
Expected Results
The expected results of the project are as follows:
- An Environmental Action Programme capable of harmonising the measures to be developed within port environments,
whilst coordinating the actions carried out by the Ports and the Councils.
- The establishmentof integrated control systems for air pollution
and port-activity derived noise monitoring, among other factors.
- An Indicator System that is to be managed by means of a control mechanism
that enables the evaluation and monitoring of the actions carried out by means of the Environmental
Action Programme.
- A guide for the implantation of Environmental Action Plans in small
commercial, fishing and/or leisure ports.
- A social awareness-raising campaign, with special emphasis on children
- A public participation plan, organised around public meetings, debate forums, surveys, etc.
- A recommendations and good practice guide aimed at minimising the noise derived from port activities.
- A web service that will enable information to be obtained relative to the project’s progress,
the indicator values obtained, as well as facilitating public participation through opinion forums, etc.
- The celebration of the first International Meeting on port-city relationships
as contemplated from an environmental standpoint.
