SIMPYC Project

Dissemination of the project on national and international levels in each of the participating locations, as well as throughout the rest of Europe. The following actions are to be carried out:

1.- Promotion of the project through sector-orientated magazines, participation in other types of publications, the creation of informative brochures, etc.

2.- Participation in a variety of events (conferences, international forums, specialised trade fairs, etc.) related to the port environmental issues in Spain, Italy and France, as well as in other countries in which events related to the Port-City environmental issues are held. The project is to be presented during the following forums, among others:

• Foro Ambiental Portuario, celebrated during the 7th National Environment Congress, November 2004.
• Port and Coastal Engineering Workshops.
• Transport Engineering Congress.
• 6ª edition of ECOFIRA “Feria de Medioambiente del Mediterranean”, October 2004.
• ECOPORTS (European Port Environmental Management Programme) European workshops.
• Attendance at “Greenweek” during the third year of the project, in order to present the results obtained.

3.- Publication of website, to be revised and updated on a periodic basis, and which is to contain all the information relative to the project: information obtained from the indicators, debate forums enabling public participation, the current situation of the project, etc.

4.- Publication of news bulletin via the website, aimed at all those interested in the project.

5.- Celebration of an International Meeting, organised by the State Public Ports Authority, responsible for the Spanish Ports System. The Meeting, which is to enable the participation of other cities and ports, is to promote the project, together with other projects dealing with the environmental problems derived from port-city integration.

6.- Creation of a liaison group with the ESPO (European Sea Ports Organisation) Environmental Committee, of which the Valencia Port Authority and the State Public Ports Authority are members.
