Simpyc at Europa Innova

Simpyc exhibits its port-city integration model to over 700 experts in innovation.

At the Europe INNOVA Conference organised by the European Commission and Regional Government.

The Simpyc project has presented its port-city integration model at the large scale European conference on innovation, Europe INNOVA, held in Valencia from Sunday 26 to Wednesday 29 November. The event was organised by the European Commission and Regional Government in collaboration with the Fundación Comunidad Valenciana – Región Europea (FCVRE).

The Conference in Valencia is gathering together over 700 business people, authorities and professionals related to innovation policies of the European Union under the slogan ‘Re-inventing Europe: challenges for clusters and innovative businesses’. This is the first edition of the event which has become the leading annual innovation event of the European Union.

For this reason, Juan Manuel Revuelta, Director of FCVRE, has defined the Conference as a unique opportunity for Valencian businesses to share knowledge and good practice with other European businesses to establish networks and alliances that will lead to future collaborations.

Port-city integration

Simpyc proposes a system of port-city environmental integration which involves monitoring air pollution in port areas and studying the visual impact of ports on urban areas.

The aim of the project is to demonstrate the socioeconomic importance of ports in cities while ensuring that the environment is preserved at the same time. It also strives to sensitize and create awareness among the public on the importance of the coastal environment and the need for its conservation.

The Simpyc project led by the Valencia Port Authority is exhibiting at a stand in Europe INNOVA as an example of project innovation. As a result, the project has been presented to the more then 700 delegates attending the Valencia Trade Fair where Europe INNOVA is being held.
