The VPA holds the first workshop of the Life Project Simpyc

The Valencia Port Authority (VPA) is due to hold the first workshop of the SIMPYC project, a pioneering plan for port-city environmental integration.
This project is within the framework of the Life programmes 2004 and involves the close collaboration of the ports of Livorno and Toulon, the Valencia City Council, Azahar Ingeniería, the Ente Público Puertos del Estado (EPPE) (Public Agency State Ports), and the University and is expected to run until June 2007.
This first workshop, which will be held tomorrow, aims among other objectives to determine guidelines for the implementation and execution of various tasks which have been identified for participants and establishes a schedule for fulfilling the objectives proposed in the project.
Programme
The day’s agenda for the first meeting of the Simpyc Project will commence at 10 o’clock with a welcome address from Ramon Gomez-Ferrer, General Manager of the Valencia Port Authority.
There will then be an introduction to analyse the Project and the participants?
At 11am there will be a presentation of the Project Overview objectives, documentation and Gant Chart given by Federico Torres, Project Manager and Manager of General Services, Safety and the Environment of the VPA.
"The initial steps of the Project: Task 1" will be discussed during a speech given by Sara Ibáñez, from the Feports Foundation.
After coffee at 12 o’clock, A presentation on ‘Financial Aspects’ will be given by Rafael Company, a technical expert of the SIMPYC project. After this a presentation on ‘Project Management’ will be given by Pablo Palomo from the Feports Foundation.
The analyses of the Dissemination Plan made by the Europa Foundation and the Web Page of Azahar Ingenieros, S.L. will close tomorrow’s session.
