28/01/08 A Guide for the Implementation of Eco-management Systems in Autonomous ports is published.

The Regional Department for Infrastructure and Transport has published a guide for the Implementation of an Eco-management System in Autonomous Ports, after implementation of an EMS and receipt of the ISO 14001 certificate for the ports of Denia and Villajoyosa.

The Guide aims to establish a standard for implementing an EMS in this type of port facility based on the EMAS Regulation of the European Union and the principles of local Agenda 21. In this way, environmental management in these small ports can easily be integrated into municipal eco-management.

The Guide covers all aspects from the planning and design of an EMS to final verification and EMAS registration.
