27/12/07 Presentation of Environmental Notebooks of the City Council and the Valencia Port Authority at Expojove

From 26 December to 4 January 2008 the Valencia Trade Fair hosted Expojove, an event for the very young which provides an interactive forum for demonstrating how the different organisms of the city of Valencia work such as the Fire Brigade, the Police …etc. It is also educational and creates awareness of environmental issues in an enjoyable way through workshops, theatre, performances so that children can learn while they play.

Both the City Council and the Valencia Port Authority presented their Environmental Notebooks of the port and city of Valencia at the event, which is in line with one of the principal objectives of the SIMPYC project: to create awareness on the need to respect the environment. The notebooks follow the same approach of learning through play and include games, colouring in, etc. This conveys the collaboration which exists between the Administrations to draw ports and nearby urban areas closer together through public involvement, in particular the involvement of the young which is in keeping with the spirit of the project.
